MEETING COMMENCED @ 7.42pm

MINUTES

Present; A.Lavery, T.Davies, B.Steen, P.Davies, N.Davies, H.Kelly, O.Kelly, E.Shillcock, E.Downes, P.Williams, S.Wypler, G.Meredith.

Apologies; K.McIntyre, A.Baker.

Minutes of Previous Meeting (28-04-05); Approved.

   Chairman welcomed Sergeant Chris Hovey to the meeting. He said two new community beat officers had been allocated to Conwy. Alcoholic drinks are banned from Bodlondeb Park but the Police cannot do much until the appropriate signs had been erected (In the next few days!). All calls still have to go through Caernarfon (But 999 can still be used in serious situations!). A mobile CCTV may be a possibility on a short-term basis. Chris stayed for the complete meeting.

Matters Arising;

            1. E.S showed the committee badges, etc, that had been chosen for the new tracksuit tops. We had a choice of, white tops with green and gold bands (Available immediately), or green tops with similar bands (Probably 4 weeks waiting). Either top costs £29-00 each.

2. H.K said it was still possible that his contact would sponsor the tracksuit tops for around £700-00.

            3. A.L said he would put the Bowling Machine on the Web Site to sell. Committee agreed that a £500-00 reserve be instated.

            4. A.L said he had spoken to the council Ref, to the Community Service Youths painting the external of the Club House, but it would appear there was too much red tape to make this possible.

            5. E.Downes will contact a Brain Cossy (Council) ref, to external painting, etc.

Treasurer’s Report; Not Available. (But he had said that the club still owed £400-00 from the Tour).

Captains Reports;

            1st Team; E.S was still concerned that no other umpire was available. T.D had umpired all 1st team games so far but T.D would also like to play some games too. S.W said he would umpire Saturday’s game at Abergele (04/06/05). A.L said he would try John Sneyd again and see what he says about future games. E.S said that the youngsters Phil Davies and Daniel Davies must be congratulated on their 1st team performances. The team had achieved 19 points out of 20 possible over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

2nd Team; N.D said the team was doing quite well at the moment, winning 2 out of the last 3 matches. He also said he was concerned about Andy Greenland again and asked the committee to back his decision not to play him in the future. The committee backed his request. T.D to write to Andy and explain the position. T.D to write to the league regarding clarification of playing 1st team players etc, in lower division teams when the 1st team has no game.

            Sunday Team; No Games played yet.

            Ladies Team; First win for the Ladies last week. Got a couple of new players but yet to field eleven ladies.

            Colts Team; Played four games won two and narrowly losing the other two.

Correspondence;

            1. Club Insurance renewed on 1st June with new insurers, same conditions apply. A premium of £836-80, cover £2 Million.

            2. Letter received from liquor license office, license to be renewed by 6th August 2005. Necessary forms filled in and returned to license office.

Cricket Matters;

1. H.K reported that R.S.Scaffolding would provide free scaffolding for us to repair the sightscreens. We do our own assembling work.

2. The club received a £25-00 fine from the Welsh Cup Cricket Board for not fulfilling a cup fixture, E.S proposed the fine be paid and P.W seconded the proposal. Proposal passed.

Update of Tour; O.K said 15 persons had definitely booked. Mini Bus had been booked, cost at £258-00. Three drivers had been named. Winter football team donated £105-00 towards the Mini Bus.

Any Other Business;

            1. Sixes Competition on Sunday 19th June. 2 teams entered by Conwy Colts and 1 team entered by Conwy Celts. Barbara and Mandy will do the catering.

            2. All was reminded about Draw tickets to be returned by the end of June.

            3. It was decided to cancel the Games Night on 3rd June. Lack of arrangements.
