COMMITTEE MEETING 25TH MARCH 2004

MINUTES

 

Present; A.Lavery, T.Davies, B.Steen, E.Shillcock, A.Wilson, E.Downes, N.Davies, P.Williams, A.Baker.

 

Apologies; O.Kelly, G.Meredith.

 

Previous to commencement of meeting the Chairman A.L welcomed Paul Williams onto the committee, in the role of Child Welfare Officer.

 

Minutes Of Previous Meeting (29.01.04); Approved. Proposed by E.S. Seconded by B.S.

 

Matters Arising;

            1. It was agreed that the nets area be repaired by ourselves, for this season, and new netting be acquired at a cost of £130-00. A.L will order.

            2. A.L reported that the club now has 5 senior coaches.

            3. E.D will look into getting a grant, based on a package deal, therefore, Net cages, and alterations, etc.

 

Treasurer’s Report; An up to date (16/03/04) report was presented to all committee members. A.B said he will submit a report each month. A vote of thanks was recorded, proposed by E.D, seconded by E.S.

 

Correspondence;

            1. A.L reported that a cheque for £172-80 had been sent to the cricket league for cricket balls. £17-00 each for 1sts and £14-00 each for 2nds. Balance to be paid in July, £403-20. 3 Dozen Ordered in total.

            2. E.D reported that the public toilets at rear of building are to be closed. However, our club can open the toilets on match days if desired, and receive a rebate on our lease rent. A new draft lease should be received in the next seven days.

 

Cricket Matters;

            1. Fixture books in process of being printed by Derek McFee.

            2. E.S reported that the indoor nets have attracted a few promising new players, and A.L reported that the ladies also have several new players.

            3. N.D said he required a cheque for £15-00 for the Under 13s for league fees. (All matches to be played before mid July)

            4. A.L said matches have been arranged for 11th July (Away) and 1st August (Home) against Mochdre, for the Mike Steen Trophy

 

Centenary Dinner / Dance; A.L reported that 46 persons had so far booked for the event. A disco has been booked at a cost of £100.

 

Any Other Business;

            1. Child Welfare Declaration and Membership forms and accompanying letter to be sent to all prospective/and current members.

            2. A clock for pavilion will be ordered by A.W at a cost of £500-00 + P&P. A 2 year warranty and fittings included Green face with Gold lettering. (A protection cover may be required.)

            3. The central heating problem will be dealt with by A.W.

            4. New proposed bar prices proposed by E.S and seconded by A.W was passed by committee are as follows. All cans £1-40, All bottles £1-60, Soft Drinks 35/65p per glass, Spirits £1-20, with mixers £1-30.

            5. A short ceremony will be held at 13-00 hrs on 10/04/04 to inter Mike Steen's ashes on end of cricket square before the club match on this day.

            6. A payphone will be installed for star of season. A.L will arrange connection with BT.

            7. Social evenings will be held on Friday 7th May (Treasure Hunt), Friday 4th June (Quiz Night), Friday 9th July (Horse Racing), Friday 3rd September (Darts), and Friday 8th October Provisional Date for Dinner Presentation evening.
