COMMITTEE MEETING 25th August 2005
MEETING COMMENCED @ 7.40pm
MINUTES
Present; A.Lavery, T.Davies, B.Steen, P.Davies, E.Downes, O.Kelly, H.Kelly, E.Shillcock.
Apologies; N.Davies, K.McIntyre, A.Baker.
Minutes of Previous Meeting (28-07-05); Approved.
Matters Arising;
1. B.S and E.D will contact Jason Jones & Co in reference to the new lease etc.
2. Scaffolding available for sight screens, date to be arranged for delivery.
3. Indoor winter nets, A.L arranging day, dates, and venue.
4. The Mike Steen Memorial Cup was won by Conwy this year.
5. B.S said she and Mandy Wilson had received payment for the Sixes Competition this year.
Treasurer’s Report; Bank balance stands at £2300-00, plus £400 in cash (A further £600-00 for the bowling machine to be banked), also several subs still outstanding.
Captains Reports;
1st Team: Nothing to Report.
2nd Team: No Report Available.
Ladies Team: Played Prestatyn Ladies again and won very easily.
Sunday Team: Won last two games; all games have been enjoyed by all.
Colts Team: Nothing to Report.
Correspondence; None.
Cricket Matters;
1. A.L confirmed that he will be standing down as Chairman at the coming AGM.
2. It was proposed that the Committee should be increased by a further 3 / 4 members next year.
3. E.S said that some members had requested that concrete bases for outdoor nets be enlarged, the cost being £250-00 and the metal poles etc be erected (No cost submitted). Costs to be submitted next meeting. Also some concern about the painting etc on exterior of the clubhouse.
4. A.L asked P.D if he would attend the Midweek AGM on Friday 30th September at Colwyn Bay Cricket Club.
5. It was decided that the end of season club game go ahead on Saturday 17th September starting at 12-00 noon followed by a BarBQ.
6. Awards for 2005 to be arranged at next Committee Meeting on September 29th.
7. A.L will not be available for the next meeting, B.S will take the chair.
8. Tour booked for Friday July 21st - 28th 2006 to Stow-on-the-Wold (Cotswold’s).
Any Other Business;
1. A.L said he was disgusted with the state of the lounge and bar last Sunday morning. Especially as there was a game starting at 11-00am.
2. It was agreed that a new subs structure be put in place for 2006 at the AGM.
3. E.D will organize Disco etc for the Dinner / Dance. Cost of evening being £14-00 per person and special menu and cost for the juniors.
4. E.S still unhappy about the No Smoking etc in the clubhouse. Suggested that the ban be reverted to No Smoking until after tea. No decision taken.
5. A.L reminded all about Bingo Night on Friday September 2nd.
