COMMITTEE MEETING 26TH August 2004

MEETING COMMENCED @ 7.34pm

 

MINUTES

 

Present; A.Lavery, T.Davies, B.Steen, O.Kelly, A.Wilson, E.Shillcock, E.Downes.

 

Apologies; K.McIntyre.

 

Minutes of Previous Meeting (27-07-04); Approved. Proposed, E.Shillcock. Seconded by B.Steen.

 

Matters Arising;

            1. E.S Proposed that the league had only given a 1 match ban on the Corus Colors player at the hearing last week. He was very unhappy with the decision, as the league rules state a five match ban for misconduct and bad behaviour. He also states that other clubs have had similar incidents with the same player.

            2. In the ‘Mike Steen Cup’ Conwy won the second match against Mochdre, but Mochdre won the cup by a few runs over the aggregate runs scored in the two matches.

 

Treasurer’s Report; No report available.

 

Captain’s Reports;

            1st Team; E.S reported that the point’s gap at the top of the table was very tight and there are two crucial games this bank holiday weekend against Pwllheli (Away) and Mochdre (Home).

            2nd Team; A.W reported that the team is struggling to avoid relegation.

            Ladies Celts; No report available.

            Midweek; No midweek games played lately owing to rain, etc.

 

Blue Grass Festival;

            1. No decision made on requests received. A.L proposed that a decision be made at later date, seconded by T.D.

 

Cricket Matters;

            1. E.S reported that the condition of wickets at Conwy have caused a lot of concern this season. Both from ourselves and from visiting teams. It was decided that this consideration at the A.G.M. In the meantime A.L will have a talk to G.M on this matter.

            2. O.K said that Sue Roberts had paid Full Lady Membership for this season but had been unable to play through illness. It was proposed by O.K that Sue’s membership be carried over for 2005 season. A.W seconded proposal.

 

Any Other Business;

            1. It was suggested that an annual Dinner / Presentation / Dance be held on Friday 8th October 2004 at Rhos-On-Sea Golf Club. It was proposed by A.W and seconded by B.S. E.D will act as Toastmaster etc. E.S will do raffle on the night, all donations for raffle would be gratefully received.

            2. Awards for the 2004 season to be decided at next meeting on September 30th, plus captain’s awards etc. It was proposed by A.L that the John McDonald Trophy go to Andy Davies. To be considered at next meeting.

            3. It was proposed by A.L and seconded by E.S that Marks & Spencer Vouchers to the value of £25-00 be got for four tea ladies.

            4. E.D said the Sunday 5th September Worfield trip to go ahead with games for the men’s & junior teams arranged.

            5. A.L Reported that five games have been arranged for the clubs Cotswold’s tour on September 11th;            

                                                Sunday; Whitcombe C.C.

                                                Monday; Gloucester City

                                                Tuesday; Ullenwood

                                                Wednesday; Cheltenham Police

                                                Thursday; Selsley & Rodborough

            Cost for minibus for tour being £235-00 + £10-00 Insurance for each extra driver (Possible extra two drivers needed).

 

            6. Meeting to discuss final details for tour on Wednesday 1st September @ 8.00pm at Conwy Cricket Club.

            7. Meeting to discuss proposed new lease on Thursday 9th September @ 7.30pm at Conwy Cricket Club.

            8. Chairman A.L gave his apologies for Thursday September 30th Meeting when Vice Chairperson B.S will chair the meeting.
