COMMITTEE MEETING 28th April 2005
MEETING COMMENCED @ 7.42pm
MINUTES
Present; A.Lavery, T.Davies, P.Davies, B.Steen, N.Davies, H.Kelly, E.Shillcock, K.McIntyre, E.Downes, A.Baker.
Apologies; O.Kelly, P.Williams, G.Meredith.
Minutes of Previous Meeting (31-03-05); Approved. Proposed by P.Davies. Seconded by N.Davies.
Matters Arising;
1. E.S said he had acquired a price of £29-00 for the track suit tops in green / gold with Conwy badge etc embroidered on. He was still looking into sponsors towards the cost of the tops.
2. It was reported that despite the weather of late there was an improvement in the wicket and the square.
3. It was decided that we look for a buyer for the bowling machine (Possible £500 Minimum).
4. H.K reported that 14 persons had now booked for the June Tour.
Treasurer’s Report; Copy attached. However A.B reported his concern of the club being out of pocket on the Indoor Nets.
Captains Reports;
1st Team; E.S said he was pleased with a good 9 – 1 Points win in the first game, but he was still concerned of the availability of players particularly when both teams are playing.
2nd Team; N.D said no games had yet been played. Castell Alun had requested a change of date for the 7th May game as their ground was not available. This game has been re-arranged for Sunday 3rd July. He also questioned the possibility of Andy Greenland playing. Committee decided he would be given a last chance . T.D will write to A.G explaining the decision.
Sunday Team; H.K reported no games played yet. Inter club game on Sunday May 1st starting 1-30pm.
Ladies Team; K.M reported no games played yet but 3 new ladies have joined the team. Also had a good turnout last Sunday for the Practice game.
Colts Team; P.D reported first league game next Wednesday May 4th against Conwy Celts.
Correspondence;
1. A.L reported that he had received an e-mail from Andy Davies referring to the yobs etc last Sunday. Also received a copy of the e-mail to Inspector I. Maxwell. Andy asked for the backing of the committee on this issue, the e-mail was approved.
2. A.L reported letter regarding breast feeding facilities in the club. K.M proposed that the facilities be available, E.D seconded. Proposal passed by committee.
Cricket Matters;
1. E.S was still concerned about the availability of umpires. T.D said he will continue to available for the present time.
Any Other Business;
1. E.D proposed that an increase of 10p be put on all cans etc, that are currently £1-40. It was suggested that maybe a card for Bookers C & Carry be of use in buying bar stock. Committee unanimously passed proposal.
2. A.L reported he had received a letter from the council requesting the use of our showers for council workers who cycle to work in the mornings. Council would fit new locks etc as was required. Committee decided not to grant request at the present time.
3. E.S said a grass strip had been cut in the net area for practice purposes.
4. There was general concern still of the appearance of the outside area of the pavilion (Painting, large holes in ground etc).
