COMMITTEE MEETING 28th July 2005

MEETING COMMENCED @ 7.40pm

MINUTES

Present; A.Lavery, T.Davies, B.Steen, N.Davies, P.Davies, S.Wypler, A.Baker, E.Downes, O.Kelly, H.Kelly, E.Shillcock, K.McIntyre.

Apologies; None.

Minutes of Previous Meeting (30-06-05); Approved.

Matters Arising;

            1. Sponsorship. Invoice for £870-00 received for tracksuit tops, etc. T.D will send a copy to sponsor who has offered a sponsorship of £700-00 and explain that the club will pay £170-00 shortfall. T.D will liaise with H.K on contents of letter.

2. E.S said that a charge of £6-00 would be imposed on each sale up to 30 tops being sold. Any more than 30 being required and the price will be revised.

            3. E.D and B.S had not been able to contact Mr. Hussey as yet - on holiday.

            4. H.K will organize the delivery of the scaffolding, possibly for about 5-00pm one day, some help required.

            5. B.S said that S.W had brought the carving knives as promised, and she had bought a new microwave at a cost of £34-95.

            6. A.L said that the indoor nets had not yet been booked, but the Rydal School was still a possibility.

            7. The Mike Steen Cup, Conwy XI Vs Llanrwst XI will take place this Sunday 31st July as arranged, O.K will do the teas.

            8. It was approved during the meeting that the Annual Dinner / Dance would again be held at the Rhos On Sea Golf Club on Friday 14th October. Menu yet to be sorted out. Some concern was noted on last year’s menu. E.D will sort out this problem.

Treasurer’s Report; Copy attached.

1. Treasurer did report his concern about outstanding subs. Captains asked to chase up offenders.

Captains Reports;

            1st Team: E.S said that the team had slipped lately but generally OK for the first Year back in Division 2. Umpires were still quite a problem.

            2nd Team: N.D said that the team still doing quite well. Still promotion a possibility, also pleased with the youngsters progress.

            Ladies Team: K.M said that the team had a good season, joint second in the evening league. Played a Ladies team from Prestatyn last week and gave them a whipping. Hope to have a return game at Conwy.

            Sunday Team: H.K said that the team had not yet won a game, and all games had been enjoyable. He had arranged a game for 7th August at Conwy Vs Llandudno Taverners.

            Colts Team: P.D said that the team had a good season finishing 3rd in the league, and won the Tom Barlow Cup. He expressed his thanks for the support given to his very young team when they won the cup.

Correspondence; Secretary said he had received a request from B.S for the payment for herself and Mandy Wilson for services at The Sixes Competition. Committee agreed to pay them £10-00 each.

Cricket Matters;

            1. A.L reported that he might be retiring as Chairman at the end of the year. He hopes to have made a decision by the next meeting, in August.

            2. It was decided that the BBQ be postponed from 5th August to a later date.

            3. E.S suggested that the Committee for 2006 be increased by a further 4 members. This proposal would have to be sanctioned at the 2005 AGM.

            4. E.D expressed his concern about the Blue Grass Festival, whether this event should continue at Bodlondeb. Unfortunately the club cannot make a decision as the council has over riding powers for four events per year. However it was noted there was a mess left in front of the pavilion (Churned up Grass).

Any Other Business;

            1. Concern was raised about the general state of the lounge, toilets, dressing rooms etc. A.L said a key was available for club rubbish etc to be put in council skip at rear of pavilion.

            2. The Annual Dinner / Dance has been arranged for Friday 14th October at Rhos On Sea Golf Club. Menu and Cost to be arranged.

            3. The A.G.M will be on Thursday November 17th at Conwy Cricket Club.
