COMMITTEE MEETING 29TH JANUARY 2004
MINUTES
Present; Full House.
Apologies; Nil.
Minutes Of Previous Meeting (23.10.03); None Available.
Matters Arising;
1. Appointment of Child Welfare Officer. Names temporarily put forward Eric Shilcock / Karen McIntyre. Alan Lavery to contact Mike Short, for further information.
2. Damage to nets Etc, A.L. reported that it would cost £130.00 + VAT just for net repairs. E.D. will look into the cost of having cages fixed to cover nets and portable nets. Will report back to the next meeting.
3. It was pointed out by G.M. that we should consider the mower would need replacing very soon, when making a decision on the nets etc.
4. The club constitute to be amended to include C.W.O. on the Management Committee.
Treasurer’s Report; The new treasurer, Andrew Baker, was welcomed to the Committee. The current bank statement was £4483.00 plus a further £817.00 Paid in recently. Minus £507.00 Paid out for league fees and loam. Leaving a balance of £4703.00 @ 29.01.04. A further cheque paid out for £9.50 for Under 13’s entry into the Welsh Cup. It was reported that we had applied for a Charitable Rate Relief. The committee passed that the new signatories required for the cheques, etc will be Alan Lavery, Barbara Steen, Alan Wilson & Andrew Baker. A donation of £100.00 has been received from Conwy Town Council for painting the outside of the clubhouse.
Telephone; It was agreed that a telephone would be re-installed. Proposed by B.S. and seconded by E.S. (Land Line - Club Mobile - Pay Phone.) It was agreed, the decision would be made at next meeting. A.B. said his mother had a spare Pay Phone and would probably give it to the club. (E.S. was not very happy!)
Correspondence;
1. Level 1 coaching course to be held at Kinmel Bay on Tuesday 17th February, to 29th February, 2004. Cost of course - £110.00.
2. In Welsh Cup, Conwy are away to Pwllheli Date to be arranged. Sunday April 25th OR Sunday May 9th, 2004.
Cricket Matters;
1. The Indoor nets have been booked at Llandudno Leisure Centre from Sunday March 7th to Sunday April 11th (5.00pm to 7.00pm).
2. Outdoor nets will start on Tuesday April 20th @ 6.30pm. With team selections immediately following (Possible 5 persons).
3. It was proposed by E.S. and seconded by A.W, that offer by Llanrwst to let us have their South African Coach on Tuesday Evening’s at a cost of £25.00 per session should be considered. The proposal was passed in principle.
4. E.S. had received a letter from Craig Jenkins, offering the club to the Cotswolds from Sunday September 12th to Thursday September 16th. Accommodation B.B. £30.00 per night. It was agreed in principle , and O.K and E.S. would organise tour. Proposed by E.S. and Seconded by N.D.
Centenary Dinner / Dance; It was agreed that the event should go ahead. A.L, O.K, B.S, and E.D would make arrangements. Possible venue Deganwy Castle and the proposed date Friday March 26th. Proposed by E.D and Seconded by A.W.
Any Other Business;
1. B.S has said she would donate a cup in Mike’s memory for the best fielder each season.
2. It was agreed that two cricket matches would be arranged with Mochdre CC, Home/Away basis. Aggregate score to decide winner. Cup in memory of Mike Steen.
3. The annual pre season club game has been arranged for Saturday April 10th (Easter). It was also proposed by B.S that she would like to use this day, to spread Mike’s ashes on the wicket, as he would have wanted. So as he could keep a watch on Cricket at Conwy.
4. B.S said that donations received in Mike’s memory totalled £536.00. She has donated £160.00 to Rhos T.T. Club and would like the balance of £376.00 to come to Conwy C.C. She proposed that the money be used for a new clock on outside of pavilion. E.D will look into cost etc, and report to next meeting.
5. K.M reported that the Ladies Team would be struggling to have enough players this season and it would be doubtful whether she could put her team in the Midweek League.
