COMMITTEE MEETING 29TH APRIL 2004

 MINUTES

Present; A.Lavery, T.Davies, B.Steen, O.Kelly, K.McIntyre, E.Shillcock, E.Downes, N.Davies, G.Meredith, A.Baker.

Minutes Of Previous Meeting (25.03.04); Approved. Proposed by N.D. Seconded by E.S.

 

Treasurer’s Report; An up to date (24/04/04) report was presented to committee members. Approved by E.S, seconded by B.S. It was noted that a loss of £15 was made on the (men’s) indoor nets. And the account for the Deganwy Castle Dinner/Disco had not yet been received (48 attended).

 

Captain’s Reports;

            1st Team; Only played one match so far, winning 10 – 0. Captain reasonably happy with performance.

            2nd Team; No report available (Captain not well).

            Ladies Celts; No matches played yet. Struggled with indoor nets but outdoor nets improved, 13/15 present with possibility 2/3 more to come. The squad includes two welsh internationals with a further two also possible for Welsh honours. Captain also reported that the Ladies Welsh U17’s would be visiting the area this summer to play matches.

            Sundays; N.D reported no matches until 16th May apart from the Welsh Cup (May 9th).

 

Correspondence;

            1. Peggy Longmore made a donation of £100 to help renew the damaged nets.

            2. Welsh grand draw tickets received (T.D to organise distribution).

            3. A letter was received from Ladies Captain K.M regarding her disapproval of treatment towards the Ladies cricket Team. The contents have been minuted at K.M’s request. After discussing the issue with committee the matter was reasonably resolved.

 

Cricket Matters;

            1. It was noted that N.D was 1st Team Vice Captain and Hugh Kelly was 2nd Team Vice Captain.

            2. E.D reported that Warfield CC wanted Conwy to visit their club again this season (Sunday 5th September). They would like us to take a Ladies team, junior team, Men’s team, plus a twelve person’s bowls team. It was agreed in principle that the date be held for one month.

 

Any Other Business / Matters Arising;

            1. Committee and captains reminded to collect membership and self declaration forms A.S.A.P.

            2. Insurance certificate (Copy required to send to league) and also check when renewal date is due.

            3. A.L reported engineer been to look at drinks cooler. Repairs would cost £75 plus VAT. Repair cost approved, proposed by T.D and seconded by E.S.

            4. T.D will write to divisional commander regarding damage to nets, windows, clubhouse etc. T.D and A.L to liaise on format. Regarding this issue A.L also reported that the Police had made the Bodlondeb area a hotspot and police would patrol the area regularly.

            5. Quotes required to possible replacement of carpet.

            6. A.L has required 4 surplus spotlights. T.D and A.W will fix when free time available.

            7. It was agreed that petrol expenses remain at 12pence per mile for away matches (3 Cars).

            8. T.D to write to council legal department regarding damage to nets and a possible claim against them from Conwy CC.

            9. T.D to order portable netting etc. Proposed by K.M and seconded by E.D.
