COMMITTEE MEETING 30TH JUNE 2005

MEETING COMMENCED @ 7.45pm

MINUTES

 

Present; A.Lavery, T.Davies, B.Steen, N.Davies, P.Davies, G.Meredith, S.Wypler, A.Baker, E.Downes, O.Kelly, H.Kelly, E.Shillcock.

 

Apologies; P.Williams, K.McIntyre.

 

Minutes of Previous Meeting (02-06-05); Approved.

 

Matters Arising;

            1. H.K reported that the sponsorship deal was still ongoing.

2. A.L said that the council said that the Youth Offenders Scheme was unable to do the external painting (Too much red tape).

            3. E.D reported that he had spoken to and met Mr. Hussey, ref to the lease etc. Mr. Hussey said he would look into the matter. E.D and B.S will lobby Mr. Hussey again this week.

            4. H.K said the scaffolding could be delivered anytime, for sightscreen repairs. Committee agreed to have delivery at end of July or early August.

            5. Sixes Competition had raised £80-00 in catering and £80-00 on the bar.

            6. B.S said that new carving knives and microwave were needed for the bar. S.W will bring knives and Committee agreed for B.S to buy the new microwave.

 

Treasurer’s Report; Copy attached. A.B (treasurer) raised a couple of points, which concerned him.

1. Several subs still not paid.

2. £1400-00 spent on second hand mower, and not yet been used. G.M said it was a stand by as present mower was near its sell by date.

3. Tour still owing club £400-00. It was proposed by O.K that the debt be written off, A.B seconded proposal. The committee agreed to proposal.

4. Ladies indoor nets still owed the club some monies. O.K said she still had some cash at home. It was agreed that Ladies and Men's nets next winter be joint, and early bookings and venue be arranged. It was suggested that 7-00pm to 9-00pm on Wednesday evenings be a possibility.

5. It was also reported that stock of caps, badges, etc stood at approx £360-00.

 

Captains Reports;

            1st Team: E.S said the team doing very well at the moment and was pleased with youngster’s performances. The team currently top of Division 2.

            2nd Team: N.D winning most games at the moment, with 2 games coming up this weekend. Youngster’s also playing really well.

            Ladies Team: Things generally plodding along ok.

            Sunday Team: Not played many games yet, but all players enjoying the games, even when on one occasion the average age was 51.3 Years old.

            Colts Team: Doing very well in League and reached the Semi Finals of the Cup.

 

Report of June Tour;

            1. Played and lost 4 evening games owing mainly to poor weather, but Tour was enjoyed by all. Tour for next year possibly in July (Shropshire / Hereford / Worcester possible areas). O.K and H.K were thanked for making the tour possible. They said they would look into details of tour for 2006.

 

Cricket Matters;

            1. Wed 6th July, Rhos Fynach V Old Colwyn (Evening), Police V Old Colwyn (Cup Evening) to be arranged.

            2. It was agreed that the Fines Committee would enforce a limit of £1-50 per match. Proposed by E.S and Seconded by S.W. (Approved).

            3. The Mike Steen Cup game to be brought forward 1 week to Sunday 31st July.

            4. A.L reported that council would be paying £300-00 in respect to the Blue Grass Festival.

           

Any Other Business;

            1. A.L said he had approached the AberHob in respect to the Dinner Dance. Menus will be forwarded.

            2. A.L reported that he had received a letter from the Evening League, asking if each club would donate £10-00 in recognition of Mike Bates retirement for his services as Treasurer for many years. E.D proposed that we have 2 teams in the League, so we donate £20-00. The proposal was seconded by O.K. Proposal was passed by Committee.

            3. A.L reminded all that the Horse Race Night would be held on Friday 8th July.

            4. T.D reminded all that all welsh Cup Draw Tickets be returned by end of July.
