COMMITTEE MEETING 31st March 2005

MINUTES

 

Present; A.Lavery, T.Davies, P.Davies, B.Steen, O.Kelly, H.Kelly, E.Shillcock, P.Williams, E.Downes, A.Baker.

 

Apologies; N.Davies, K.McIntyre.

 

Minutes of Previous Meeting (24-02-05); Approved. Proposed by E.Downes. Seconded by O.Kelly.

 

Matters Arising;

            1. It was reported that Andy Greenland had attended nets and so far things look promising.

2. T.D said he had written to John Huband but no reply had yet been received.

            3. B.S reported that she had purchased new cups (15 Yellow/15 Green) and would be getting new plates very soon.

 

Treasurer’s Report; Copy attached.

 

Correspondence;

            1. Request received from Rhos Fynach CC for the use of ground for Evening League games. Committee approved. Conditions as per last committee meeting. T.D will reply.

 

Cricket Matters;

            1. A.L said he had arranged with Llanrwst CC to play at Conwy on Sunday August 7th for the Mike Steen Trophy.

            2. O.K reported that three new ladies had joined their team.

            3. E.S said he was still concerned about the condition of the sightscreens. Members will make an effort to repair them before the season.

            4. 1st XI still needs an umpire. T.D will umpire some games.

            5. A.L said the ground needs rolling again on Saturday 9th April, help will be required.

            6. A.L reported that the Welsh Cup Match at Home may clash with 2nds league game on the 22nd of May. The league would agree to change the date for the 2nds if necessary.

            7. A.L will now contact council, ref to new lease proposals.

 

Any Other Business;

            1. A.L will do posters for the May Quiz Night, also non-smoking posters.

            2. E.S said he had quotes for track suit tops and team shirts, probable sponsorship for £300-00.

            3. P.W had received new insert for the clubs constitution, referring to the child welfare officer. Proposed by P.W and seconded by B.S. T.D will insert new regulation, to be adopted at the next A.G.M.

            4. A.L reported new second hand mower had arrived, cost being £1300-00. It was suggested that the old mower be sold, and possibly sell the bowling machine.

            5. O.K reported that 13 had so far booked for the June Tour. A.L said he had now got games for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday arranged.

            6. A.L reported that the Youth Offenders Project would probably provide offenders to paint exterior woodwork etc to cover up the mess the gangs have done. A.L hoped the council will provide the paint etc, and will contact the council. The committee passed unanimously this proposal.

            7. B.S said she would like the Mike Steen clock installed before the start of the season if possible. T.D and Alan Wilson will liaise.

            8. Cheques to Chris Callear (£40-00), Dave Owen (£20-00), and Jamie Wilkinson (£20-00), ref to 2004 Dinner/Dance sent 04/04/2005.
